A wonderful gift....

How was your Easter? I hope you all had a great time!
Our Easter Sunday started with snow. A lot of snow...actually too much snow :-)
But as you can see on the picture above I did not need to search for gifts, mine came with the
mail :-) Karin made all these treasures above, just because I made a comment on her blog about the candy cool is that!!!?  I love the wonderful colors of the candy eggs, but look at the
ladybirds and the other Easter candys! I will always treasure these!

Karin, vielen, vielen Dank für diese wunderschönen Oster-Leckerlies!

Here you can see my wonderful Forget-me-nots covered in snow...but I like the colors nevertheless :-)

In the meanwhile I have some dollhouses here:
- the Ballerina´s house : unfinished
- Pippi´s Cottage: unfinished
- Miranda´s Magical Seedlings: unfinished
Some might say, it would make life easier to finish them before I start something new and
You are so right!!!!.....but then I saw something so cute on Daphne´s Blog ...
Time to start something new again!!!!

So I´ll start a tree-stump-house :-) Of course I will also need a mouse to live in
this house and so I ordered some felting stuff and started to practise:

This is Spike, my first try. Not good but I love him nevertheless. The poor lilttle chicks cannot run away...they don´t have feet :-)
Felting is quite some fun and today I started my mouse:

I felted the legs and arms and then I used some foam for the body and another little piece of foam for the head. For the nose and the eyes I used fimo, which I painted and then I used the powder of my soft pastels to  "decorate" the face a little bit more. And here she is:

Jenny Mandelblüte
(Jenny Almondblossom - my daughter Jenny chose the name)

That´s all for thing is the treestump-house :-)
Have a wonderful week!

Hugs, Sandra

  1. SNOW? Where do you live, Sandra?? At the northpole ;) ? No, I am kidding: here it also is very cold for the time of the year.Few weeks back we had 20 degrees, now almost 6!! But we never had snow in april.
Your needlefelting is awesome (the very cute mouse), you did not do this before? i can not believe it!
Also congrats with the gifts from Karin, they are beautiful Easter miniatures!
    Hugs, Ilona

  3. Congratulations for the lovely gits you reserved from Karin!
-Sandra, I must say that Jenny Almondblossom is a real beauty! I'm in love!♥ Your daughter gave her the perfect name. Are we going too see more of these adorable mice?
    Hugs, piikko

  4. What a wonderful post Sandra. It made me laugh because I also have several dollshouses unfinished, and rescently I found another project :) but I am trying not to think about that one yet :)
I love your idea for the tree stump house with a mouse and Spike and Jenny Almondblossom are wonderful, I can't believe these are only your first attempts at needlefelting, amazing!!!
Your gifts from Karin are gorgoeous!! How wonderful this blog world is!!
    vicky xxxxx

  5. Thank you Ilona and Piikko! I don´t know if I am going to make more mice. The second one would be more difficult as it would have to fit in shape and size to the first one...and it will be just a small treestump house :-)...maybe a baby-mouse???
Jenny, my little one said that I must make her a mouse: Pink with purple ears. Maybe she also want some glitter on the tail, who knows?
    Hugs, Sandra

  6. Haha, i know exactly what you mean. I have so much projects at the same time too. I also have a treestump-mousehouse not finished yet.Your mouse and dog are so cute, i can't believe it is your first time, they are so perfect. Love the gifts you received too. I love the photo with the forget me not flower in the snow, gorgious color.

  7. What wonderful gifts from Karin! You are a very lucky woman! I, too, was inspired by Daphne's post. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Your dog and chicks are already cute! It feels good to be inspired and to act on that inspiration! :-) Jennifer

  8. Those are cute gifts! II wanted them really badly!! LOL! Glad you are going to get to play with them.
I love your dog! He is very cute. And incredible for a first try. The chicks are sweet too.
Your mouse looks fantastic! Wow! I can't wait to see this tree stump. Sounds so cool.
