Albert - the house-elf

Hello!

It was late last night and veeeerrrrrry early this morning, but now here is
ALBERT
I guess he came to Miranda with her last tour to Highgrove. Albert LOVES flowers and plants, but
these Muggle flowers were a bit boring to him and he really did not like to jump and hide behind bushes whenever a muggle tourist came his way.
Miranda´s shop is quite small so she still has to find a small place for him to sleep - maybe under the potting table????
Albert´s hands are quite ugly. So instead of a pot full of snails he will get a pot full of hanging ivy :-)

Have a wonderful week!

Witchy Stuff

Hello there!

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my last post, you really made my day!
Well, I had quite some problems finding time for making minis but I wasn´t lazy :-)

There was a sale out in one of our few German dollhouse shops and I just could not resist and had to buy this little shop for my witch Miranda. I have a complete house for her to decorate but I put it away until I find more time for it. So, this is the exterior: so far I only made one brick wall, cut the window in and painted everything white.

This is the other side of the window. I like the darkness inside :-))) But it is great for taking pictures as there is also a glass plate on the top of the roombox to play with the lights.

Now, of course I must fill Miranda´s  shop. I found this boxes when I googled "snail pellets". I think it is a real-life product, but for me the design looks as if it was comming directly from a Harry Potter movie and yes, I had to make some more snails! (I find that very relaxing!)

What you should know is that these are magical snails! The more snail pellets they get the more they´ll breed! So, if you want to get rid of them, try to bring them somewhere where no kinds of poisons or pellets are used against snails. The population will be normal after two or three generations....says Miranda. (Her last 1000 snails were brought to Highgrove gardens!)

I have started with cutting and painting the floors, but I´m not ready yet. This is how it looks with the floor boards (not glued in yet):

There is still a lot of space to fill but as you can see there is also some improvement with
Miranda´s physical condition! Yey!!! She recently had a sandwich with flies and some small cut pieces of Mandrake (a clever idea from her niece) and could transform from a frog into an owl. Muuuuuuch better!

Maybe..somewhere in her books there might be a cure for her???

Never give up!

Do you know snail-aways???

Hello!
Aaaah...the weather here is so ugly, cold and rainy...the football EM has begun...
PERFECT TIME TO MAKE MINIS!!!!

I made a break from my mouse house as coloring the outside is so boring , and made some items for my witch Miranda, who is very thankful for that! So I took out my paints and gave some barewood pieces a little bit of color. I used my arcylics very thin and for aging and the wood-look parts "Alles Patina" in walnut from Rayher. It was the first time I used this and I really liked it and will keep my eyes up for other wood-types :-)

Here´s Miranda, still captured in a frog´s body :-(  Don´t mind the snail on her book, we seem to have a little snail-problem here lately, which has to do with Miranda´s new breeding of the snail-away-plant:

While the first generation of the plants was really successfull in chasing away snails, the second generation is doing the contrary and magically attracting all kinds of snails! Nobody expected that and it took a while until we found out why we have snails everywhere. But don´t worry: Miranda never throws a plant away, we gave it to the neighbour :-))))))

The plants that were not eaten by the snail are growing very well and so Miranda had some time to get hand on some Fairy-dust-pumpkins. I saw similar ones on etsy but thought them to be too expensive and so I told Miranda and she kindly solved the problem.

It is not easy to get these pumpkins, you know? You have to make a fairy spread all of her fairy dust over the pumpkin patch. No decent fairy would do that voluntarily, of course. So, you must find a way to make her drunk. I do not know how Miranda made it, but I now own a nice collection of wonderful golden pumpkins :-))))

To show her my appreciation I created a logo for her shop (with the help of the Graphics Fairy) and made her bright blue wheelbarrow a bit more stylish :-)))

We are quite a good team, Miranda and me....

Thanks to you all for your lovely comments on my last post!
To those of you who enjoy football I wish you an exciting EM and to the rest:
Have a wonderful week!

How can it be that it´s already June????

Time is flying and as usual I´m constantly running behind it :-) Next weekend one of my mini online club´s friend will visit me and now I´m getting paniced because I have nothing "ready" to show her!  Now the mouse house at least got a coat of foam to create the tree´s bark and there is also another mouse:

This is Mimmi, Jenny´s little sister. They are orphans as their parents were eaten by Fluffy-the-cat :-(

Mimmi is wearing another of Thea´s great dresses and of course she also has a little toy mouse....

...and she loves cherry cake!
I guess that there will be some more, little mouses in this house :-)

Then, there are two Birthdays I did not post about yet. First one was Patty from Mini Babies. I´ve been thinking hard about what I could make that she doesn´t have yet. The answer was:

A RUBBER CHICK!!!

... and the "owner" of the chick.  I had a living model for the dog, it´s Spike, my bosses dog. He is always hungry and it was quite easy to make him pose this way as my colleague was standing in front of him with his lunch bread in his hands :-) Patty, I hope you like him!

Last monday was Drora´s Birthday. The idea for her gift came from Vicky Lovejoy, who was so kind to allow my to copy her idea.  Happy Belated Birthday, Dora!

The giveaway that I´m planning will probably something similar, so I hope you like it :-))))

Last but not least I want to say "Thank you!!!" to Ines who gave me this award:

Go over and have a look, she has such a lovely blog!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A little progress on the mouse house

Hello!
Finally I can show you some progress on the mouse house!  Although the sun is shining a lot these days here in Germany, there is also a quite fresh wind and as Jenny Mandelblüte already got a bad cough I thought it was about time to go on with her home.

The walls will be a mixture of bricks and wallpapers. For the wood parts I have used some air drying clay which I painted after drying. That made things a lot easier for me as the walls are round. The sandstone brick compound is from Bromley Crafts. For the brick walls and the stone floor I used some self adhesive patterns I found on ebay.

Here you can see that it is not more than a beginning :-), no windows made yet, the upper floor is
completely naked, the exterior just newspapers....so:
...to be continued :-)))))

This is something I started for the exterior of my Ballerina´s house, it is a
wild roses kit from Pascale Garnier:

I really love it! And I congratulated to myself to have bought a wild rose and not an English roses kit...the flowers are made so quickly:-))))

These are some real flowers from my garden:

Welcome to my new followers!

I am always thrilled when I find someone new or when someone took time to leave a comment!
Thanks so much!
Recently I have BIG problems with our computer so sometimes I ´m just happy to get online at all and don´t succeed in making comments. Hope that this will be better soon!

Bye for now,
Sandra

Kaisa´s Birthday ....

Hi there!
I don´t like needleworks. Sewing, stitiching, crocheting...not my world, I even get aggressive when trying it !
So it´s better for me (and the ones who are with me) to buy these things :-)
This most wonderful little dress is knitted with something that looks for me like simple sewing thread (so I´ve been told it isn´t ) and is just adorable. It is made by Thea. (Click the name for the link). It will be displayes in the girl´s room in my Ballerina´s house. (One day...)

As I have been playing around with toys and children´s stuff at the time when I had to finish Kaisa´s Birthday gift I was in the mood to make some baby´s items for her. Kaisa´s birthday was last weekend so I now can show you what I made:

The baby is bought as my attempt was simply far too ugly :-) but I again did some mini needle felting for the bunny and the music-toy-moon. For the baby-carrier I just glued hat straw around a shampoo bottle cap and lined it with fabrics.

Again it was a whole lot of fun making these, thanks to Kaisa for organising this swap and I hope you had a
Wonderful Birthday!!!!

I have been honoured by Rosella with an award. Thank you Rosella for giving it to me!

The rules say that I must tell you five things about me (and of course I will not tell you the most interesting things, haha!)
Here we go:
- I am LOUSY with realizing the dimensions of  my car. If you should see me unparking, you should better jump away quickly...
- something I remained since the months of my pregnancy with Jenny is my absolute dislike of the smell of canned fish. My wonderful husband who really enjoys canned fish only dares to eat it secretly when I am already asleep. But I still can smell it the next morning...
- I am big fan of the Harry Potter books and read all of them at least twice.
- I had to hold back tears when I first heard the poem "Steps" spoken by Hermann Hesse himself. Those words went straight into my heart.

Now, next thing would be to give this award to 15 other blogs. I could name more but I just have these
five for you. The blogs who make me want to do minis when I visit them:

And finally here is the link for Susi´s strawberry tutorial.

For the giveaway I will follow Norma´s advice and make something I enjoy. It will be similar to the swap gift for Drora so I will not show you before the end of june :-) So much time, yeah !

A wonderful week to all of you!

Still here.....

Hello!
Time seems to be flying and it is hard for me to find time for minis at the moment. So, most of my mini-time is spent for the Birthday Swap and I cannot show you the pictures yet.
But of course I want to show you Patty´s Giveaway whose lucky winner I am :-)

Thanks so much Patrizia for this wonderful table, pitcher and flowers!

For the moment it has found its place in Pippi´s cottage but its final destination will probably be in the MouseHouse...which is still a very sad sight. I know.

Actually I have a lot of materials here like the wallpapers and the brick stencils to continue but that will have to wait for a while.
And this is one of the last things I did: radishes and strawberries. Susi from MiniEdenTienda made the tutorial for the strawberries, but I can´t find the link now, but I will make the link then next time.
For the radishes I used white thin thread which I stiched through clay with the needle to form the root. I used almost white clay which I colored with the powder of red chalks before baking. Then I just glued some different sized leaves on some wires and  glued them on top of the radish...that´s all :-)
I like the red and green very much ...(as I already told you, Claude :-))) )

I am aware of the fact that there are almot 250 followers now and I think it is time to think about a giveaway, too. Any suggestions, hm???
I hope to show you some progress on the MouseHouse next time!
Bye, Sandra

A wonderful gift....

Hello!

How was your Easter? I hope you all had a great time!
Our Easter Sunday started with snow. A lot of snow...actually too much snow :-)
But as you can see on the picture above I did not need to search for gifts, mine came with the
mail :-) Karin made all these treasures above, just because I made a comment on her blog about the candy eggs...how cool is that!!!?  I love the wonderful colors of the candy eggs, but look at the
ladybirds and the other Easter candys! I will always treasure these!

Karin, vielen, vielen Dank für diese wunderschönen Oster-Leckerlies!

Here you can see my wonderful Forget-me-nots covered in snow...but I like the colors nevertheless :-)

In the meanwhile I have some dollhouses here:
- the Ballerina´s house : unfinished
- Pippi´s Cottage: unfinished
- Miranda´s Magical Seedlings: unfinished
Some might say, it would make life easier to finish them before I start something new and
You are so right!!!!.....but then I saw something so cute on Daphne´s Blog ...
Time to start something new again!!!!

So I´ll start a tree-stump-house :-) Of course I will also need a mouse to live in
this house and so I ordered some felting stuff and started to practise:

This is Spike, my first try. Not good but I love him nevertheless. The poor lilttle chicks cannot run away...they don´t have feet :-)
Felting is quite some fun and today I started my mouse:

I felted the legs and arms and then I used some foam for the body and another little piece of foam for the head. For the nose and the eyes I used fimo, which I painted and then I used the powder of my soft pastels to  "decorate" the face a little bit more. And here she is:

Jenny Mandelblüte
(Jenny Almondblossom - my daughter Jenny chose the name)

That´s all for today...next thing is the treestump-house :-)
Have a wonderful week!

Spring...

Hello!
We are enjoying wonderful springtime weather here and so it was a lot of fun to make something for our online club´s monthly project "Spring and Easter".

I made the stable from thin woods and card board. The "wire" in the windows is from some net stockings I painted black and the roof is sand paper. The bunnies are from clay with fibers.
The boots are bought as is the wonderful watering can from Bözse, who is making the most wonderful miniatures.

Welcome to my new followers! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring feelings ...

Hello!
Juhuu...there´s spring in the air!!! We are enjoying sunshine today, the bird´s are singing...and we are still ill. But muuuuuch better. Thanks for all your good wishes and comments on my last post. Mini-me-Flutterby is also doing fine. And Birgit, I have a feeling, he won´t remain the only mini-one :-)
So, as we are recovering there´s been plenty of time for mini-making. And when I saw this stork at the GraphicsFairy I knew what to do! This is quite similar the way how we told our neighbours that Tom and Jenny were born :-) ...so this is now the decoration of my Ballerina´s house on Place Pigalle.

A while ago I started to buy and make things for the girl´s room under the roof in Place Pigalle.

For now I put them in Pippis Cottage but as you can see, there´s a rocking horse (that was a kit from Kotte Toys I bought at the-special-shop.com),

and I had some fun making little fimo dolls :-)

...here´s Flutter, too!

The mini-mini-bench with the cutest teddies on it is a purchase from signea at etsy.

The dragon is still here from last autumn.

Of course the girls will need a dollshouse.  It´s quite crooked. Okay, THAT was not my intention, BUT it belonged to their mother and is a vintage piece :-)))))))

Yesterday was Simona´s Birthday. Simona, I hope that you had a wonderful day and that you will soon receive the missing gifts! Mine already arrived so I can show you what I made:

And a "Thank you!!!" to Kaisa who is organizing this fun Birthday swap!!!

And at least I would like to welcome my new followers with this springtime bouquet.
Thanks for visiting and taking time to leave a comment!

Hugs, Sandra
